CORRECTLY NUMBERED CYLINDER, YOKE, BARREL, SIDE PLATE AND LARGE DIAMOND CHECKERED WALNUT MAGNA GRIPS W/SILVER S&W MEDALLIONS. 4 SCREW, SLIGHTLY ROUNDED FLAT THUMB LATCH ( THE FIRST OF 4 DESIGNS), MINT ALUMINUM ALLOY CYLINDER ( W/REDUCED CHAMBER SIZE AT THE FRONT OF THE CHAMBERS TO KEEP THE BULLET FROM UNSEATING ON RECOIL AND JAMMING THE CYLINDER ), 1-7/8" MINT BARREL, FIRST DESIGN, FINE CHECKERED ( HUMPY ) BALL AND SOCKET HAMMER, LARGE TRIGGER GUARD, PINNED BARREL, TOTAL PRODUCTION OF THE 10-3/4 OZ CHIEFS SPECIAL AIRWEIGHT WAS 3,777 UNITS. THIS REVOLVER HAS ABOUT 80%+ OF THE ORIGINAL BLACK ANODIZED FINISH WITH BRIGHT METAL AND WEAR SHOWING ON ALL SHARP CORNERS AS IS COMMON ON ALUMINUM ALLOY WORK PIECES THAT ARE CARRIED ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. MARKED ON THE REAR GRIP TANG ( TPD-2)( POLICE DEPARTMENT ISSUE ). SOLD AS A COLLECTABLE ONLY, NOT SAFE TO SHOOT WITH MODERN HIGH VELOCITY AMMUNITION.
