THIS WAS THE STANDARD U.S. LIGHT MACHINE GUN PRIOR TO THE VIET NAM WAR.IT WAS USED ON GROUND MOUNT LIKE THIS TRIPOD AND OTHERS AS WELL AND USED IN AIRCRAFT MOUNTS. ********** THIS IS A DISPLAY GUN ONLY. THE ORIGINAL RECEIVER AND VARIOUS INTERNAL PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH ALUMNUM PARTS AND THE BARREL HAS BEEN PLUGGED TO RENDER THIS A "NONGUN" UNDER FEDERAL LAW.********** EXCELLENT CONDITION. TRIPOD HAS BEEN REPAINTED. THE MAKERS ID PLATE ON THE TRIPOD IS TOO HEAVY WITH PAINT TO READ BUT IS THERE AND CAN BE CLEANED IF NEEDED.
