Original top BARREL BAND, for all US Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor long rifles, mfg 1873-1893. Good, + MISSING BOTH SWIVELS. Don`t know how to replace the swivels, as they are different from the easy Civil War swivels. May have to bend + fit thick wire or a long nail. Still a good choice if you are handy, or just want to get a front band on the rifle fast + inexpensively. No fitting, bending or adjusting to get the band on. Fast "drop-on" fit for all correct 45-70 Trapdoor long rifles. All original front Trapdoor bands are now scarce + expensive. Many 45-70 rifles were later cut down + the top bands thrown away. At least you can now take the rifle out + use it, as the barrel will be correctly fastened to the stock, assuming you have the lower band in place. Best choice if you are missing the lower swivel from the trigger assembly. This band will make your non-swivel gun look more even. Especially if you cut grind + polish off the remaining swivel stud.
