Seller's Description:
Rare old original RAMROD SPOON SPRING, the curved spoon shaped spring that fits down in the stock, under the lower end of the barrel to hold the ramrod in. Just over 3 1/2 inches long. Also good for an unusual neck chain pendant, Gun-Part Jewelry. Wear a piece of history, used in the Civil War. Easily polished. Remove your barrel, + check for this near the breech end; if this rare spring is missing, nothing made today can be easily substituted for it. And, not all long guns were made for it. If you`re handy, you can inlet for one under the lower barrel part of the stock. Good inexpensive way to hold a loose rod in place. Several good originals still available, slight differences, easily fitted to your musket. Slight edge grinding may be all that is needed at most. From old muskets dis-assembled years ago, + forgotten til now. Very hard to find. Well worth 25.00 today. Rare outstanding opportunity if you handle muzzle-loaders. Keep your rod from falling out. Good to have one on hand for later. Several still available, your bid is for ONE. ALSO- see 160 more inexpensive old original parts + historical interestings now listed on stoneman61.
