THIS OLDTIMER APPEARS TO BE THE REAL THING. ALMOST 2 POUNDS OF BRASS, WOOD AND SHARP IRON BLADE INSERT. 16 INCHES LONG OVER ALL. THE BLADE'S ABOUT 12 INCHES LONG, 2.25 INCHES WIDE AND CLOSE TO 3/8 OF AN INCH THICK. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE OF THESE WE HAVE EVER SEEN. IT CAME FROM AN ESTATE AUCTION WITH MANY OTHER CIVIL WAR AND OLD WEST COLLECTIBLES. LOOKS TO BE RIGHT. THE SOUTH HAD VERY LITTLE STEEL AND MELTED DOWN ALL THE BRASS THEY COULD COME UP WITH TO MAKE ALL GUN AND KNIVE PARTS POSSIBLE.
