You are looking at a Belgian Flintlock Sea Service Pistol, cal.69 with a 9" barrel. The bore shows no signs of pitting and is clean. There is BELGIUM stamped on the top of the barrel. There is also a proof mark infront of the hammer of a CROWN with QN below it. The brass hardware shows signs of wear but is tight and promenent for its age. The European walnut stock is also in good shape except the marking of confirms during the time of (WAR) as seen in photos. These pistols were circa 1790's to early 1800's and purportedly were sold by BELGIUM to numerous countries and agencies. It is said that a number of these could have ended up upon the shores during the war of 1812. The lock is mechanically functional and the hammer spring is robust.
