NOTE- This is a SPRING...NOT a whole musket. Rare old original MAINSPRING for US Model 1842 Civil War Musket. This is the rare MAINSPRING, not the whole musket. Also fits US MODEL 1816, with very slight nearly un-notice able modification. And, can be fitted to some foreign muskets. If you specify for US Model 1816, in your payment letter, not email, I will clearly explain the easy modification, or do the work for you, so you don`t have to, at no extra charge. As time permits. Anyway, this 100% old + original US 1842 MAINSPRING was made 1843-1855, at Springfield or Harpers Ferry Armory. Very little used, Good to Very Good condition. Solid, strong + very use-able today for US Models 1842, 1816, + some foreign muskets. Good to have some on hand if you handle US or foreign muskets.
