Description

Seller's Description:
Original US Trapdoor Springfield 1800`s BROKEN SHELL EXTRACTOR, for ALL 45-70 Trapdoor Springfield rifles, cadets, + carbines, 1873-1893. Model 1882 cylindrical two- piece type, COMPLETE. Good, pitted but still very use able condition, it fits the grooves in all US Springfield Trapdoor 45-70 barrels exactly. If the shell casing ruptures, + part lodges in the barrel, this valuable tool can get it out. This is the only item I know of where pitting can be a plus - The exterior pitting will grip the broken shell + lead fouling better. Also one belongs in the buttplate trap of all Trapdoor 45-70 carbines, + later 1888 rifles. Not complete without it. Well worth its weight in gold when you need it. If you handle Trapdoors it may be good, while these old originals are still available, to have several on hand for later. Definitely a strong plus if you include one with every Trapdoor you sell. Complete, with both original pieces. Very hard to find. Well worth a good price. From old W. Stokes Kirk, of Philadelphia, 1876- 1974, who got it from the famous Frankford Arsenal, long ago. Several available, your bid is for ONE, good pitted CONDITION, with good rifling grooves + threads, no rust anywhere, clean, never altered in any way. ready to use. Good for another 100 years, if properly used. IF you handle Trapdoors, it may be good, while these few old low priced originals remain, to have several on hand for later. See my "US 1879 DATED 45-70 COMBINATION TOOL" now listed. And, I have all the old original Trapdoor + Musket screws, + some parts, + can list for you if needed. And, see 150 more inexpensive old original parts + historical interestings now listed on stoneman61. A rare opportunity. Satisfaction guaranteed, yes I take returns. No sale with me ever final, til I know you are pleased. Check, MO to- MICHAEL BARNES . NO PAYPAL. No pics, but let my 4,000+ stoneman61 ebay Feedbacks speak for me. Well worth more today.
