The fuse is lit at one end and then burns through the core till it reaches the other end then spits out a flame to ignite what ever it is in. When lit it burns in the center core only. You can coil this fuse on itself and it will burn for the aloted time, it can not catch fire even when coiled on itself. This is the type of fuse used in Ariel shells where the fuse is used as a delay in Ariel fireworks. This fuse can be placed in the burst mix and not ignite until it burns to the end. You could place a pile of gunpowder on top of this fuse and light the fuse with out the gunpowder burning, the heavy exterior keeps the heat/fire in the center core. When lit it burns internally and has no tale tell sign as a flame or red area, all you can see in the daytime is a small amount of smoke coming out of the end you lit, nothing at night A very useful fuse for different pyro projects and reloading certain 37mm/40mm hand loads.
