Seller's Description:
Winchester Model 1886, Cal. .45-90. Serial number 38485, manufactured in 1890. 26 inch half round - half octagon barrel with circle P parts proof mark and excellent bright bore with "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN, U.S.A. PAT. OCT. 14 1884. JAN. 20. 1885". Barrel is not original to this gun. CONDITON: Full restoration with 98% restored blue & case colors. There is a one-half inch oval shaped repair on right side of forend near the rear sight that appears to have been a burn mark, see photo. Mechanically sound. Ammunition and reloading supplies are readily available for this firearm. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE 1890: The Oklahoma Territory was organized. Cy Young gained the first of his 511 major league victories . The first Army-Navy football game was played. The last major conflict of the Indian wars took place at Wounded Knee Creek in South Dakota . ANTIQUE NO FFL TRANSFER REQUIRED.
