Traditions Fox River Fifty .54 cal. Black Powder Carbine
This auction is for a Traditions Fox River Fifty .54 cal. Black Powder percussion carbine (24” barrel, 1 : 48 twist). This carbine was manufactured by ARDESA Firearms in Spain. ARDESA is a 30 year old company and they produce between 60,000 & 70,000 firearms yearly. Condition is excellent, with 5 or 6 small bruises on the stock and one small scratch on the left side (see photos). The blued metal is ~98% with only some light scratches on top of the barrel adjacent to the nipple. The bore is excellent; looks like this gun was not used much. Sling swivels on the stock & fixed rear sight and blade front. OAL = ~40”, LOP = ~14 ¼” & weight is ~5 lbs. Powder Horn and ball starter are included. This carbine should be excellent for those long hikes hunting in black timber and /or steep terrain due to its light weight.

Our commitment to our clients is to obtain the highest fair market price possible for their firearms. Thus, we prefer the Reserve Auction and the “HAGGLE” feature offered by Auction Arms. About 50% of our sales are completed via the Haggle. In a Reserve auction if the high bidder does not reach the reserve buy to end the auction the high bidder or the seller may institute what Auction Arms calls a Haggle a one-on-one exchange between buyer and seller to try and come to a mutual agreement on a price. Buyer pays shipping which includes packaging, carrier fees and insurance. Payment can be Money Order, Cashier’s Check or Personal Check, which must clear before shipping (allow 10 days). In spite of the fact that this is a black powder firearm, we prefer to ship only to a licensed FFL or C&R Dealer. However, we do have a "waiver" form and we will ship to the transferee directly once we have a signed "waiver" and proof of age (18 years or older for long guns) and residency (a copy of your valid driver’s license or Birth Certificate). Shipping is by UPS Ground with an estimated cost of approx. $25.00 to $37.00 depending on package weight, your ZIP Code and insured value to any ZIP Code in the lower 48 states.
