This is more than likey going to serve as a good parts rifle. Someone had it setup with a scope. You can see this because all the iron sights are gone. The clip is missing. The safety is stuck to the on position so when you cycle the bolt, it slides right out of the rifle.
The wood is in excellent shape and may be the best part about this item. No mars or cracks in the stock. It can be cleaned up to ex mint condition. The buttstock pad is cracked badly as seen in the photos. This of course can easily be remedied.
Right now the bolt never cocks so you can't fire the rifle. I'm sure this can be made to fire by fixing the stuck safety. I've done nothing to it beyond look it over. I have not attempted to release the safety to see if it works. The barrel looks very nice. It certainly needs to be cleaned but the rifling is very crisp and it looks like it would clean up excellent. This rifle appeared in several gun magazines, such as Outdoor Life, in 1949. I'm not sure of the actual manufacture date but I'm sure that can be found if you run the serial #.
