| Comments: The High Standard H-D Military was listed in the auction(7130202137) as "about 95% condition" in the description . That is why I bid on it. Upon inspection I found the blueing is a completely worn, plum color on the front and back grip straps. Approximately one half of the barrel length on the front end has been cold blued and is quite obvious. The NRA Grade is listed as "Fine" which I also have a problem with because of the cold blue application which was not mentioned at all. His description of 95% is very much a misrepresentation of the gun's condition. I am keeping the gun only because it is a nice shooter and I enjoy the H-D design and the price was not real high. But, it is not a collector piece, as it could have been and should not have been listed as 95% condition. The shipping container was a flat, rectangular box which was inadequate. The gun was wrapped in a single layer of newspaper (which was completely worn through during the shipping) and put in "peanuts". If it was a nice 95% gun, it should have been shipped in a more adequate manner to protect the buyer's investment. |
